"I think that there were many times when I was not able to get involved with the ball because I was in the front, but I think that it is better than before in places where it is a little starting point or where you touch the ball with your face out." Kotaron Uchino told gekisaka.jp - Kokodama Yukihiro.
Tsukuba University talisman Kotaro Uchino spoke out about his lack of chances but good experience at the Denso Cup challenge during the All-Japan University vs All-Korean University game.
The young forward was unlucky not to score, smashing the crossbar with a well-timed header in their 1-0 win over Korean University XI earlier last week. His 187m stature proves a problem for many defences as well as his forward thinking.
According to 4years.asahi.com, Uchino studied the Tsukuba University's style of play before joining; actively making his time within their ranks more effective.
Uchino was prolific at both academy and university level, with 29 goals and five appearances in 31 games, for Yokohama F Marinos U18 and Tsukuba University respectively.
His first taste of European football came with a trial visit to Denmark - namely with Superliga side Brondby, who had success with their current Japanese striker Yukito Suzuki.
The striker is also on the scouting lists of numerous other clubs, so Brondby must act quickly if they believe he is good enough.
