A daring young midfielder was sighted as the number eight and captain of the All-Japan University side in their narrow 1-0 win over All-Korea University thanks to a goal from Noto Tsunefuji.
Another promising midfielder, namely Toki Sugasawa of Kokushikan University, was interviewed on his career amidst the university football level - a strong and physical no.6 excelling in duels and covering ground.
"There are many players who take action from themselves brightly, and if they are not such players, they cannot remain on the top." stated Sugasawa.

Toki Sugasawa has confided with the promising midfielder and number eight- Shuto Yamauchi (Waseda University) and spoke about what sort of person the captain is;
"I talked to Yamaichi-san a little bit in the bath when I was in Denchare, but the humility is amazing, and he has a leadership that brings the team together"
Yamaichi and Sugasawa are just two of the many promising prospects waiting to be scouted at the university level. Both players have represented the Japanese University XI, and have a very grounded mentality to improve.
Up close, Yamaichi was a tenacious yet skillful midfielder constantly connecting the defence and attack. His performance during the game stood out to many spectators and scouts.
Sugasawa has also impressed at this level having been selected in late February for the U20 All Japan Selection - but missed out at High School level. His committment to continue to work hard despite mental set-back is commendable.
